The Workshop Theme

“At my songwriting workshop we will all write new songs. We will not talk about the theory but will get stuck in and write. We will pick a topic, write lyrics away like blazes about it, pick the best bits, and do some work on them,” said John.

We will then set them to music and make a song. I hope that everyone will write one song per day. We will be writing, singing, playing and having fun!”

John Spillane has been writing songs and making music for the last 30 years and his songs have been performed by the likes of: Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon and Mary Black.

Listowel Writers’ Week takes place from 31st May to 4th June 2017.

Places are limited to 15 for the John Spillane workshops so book now to avoid disappointment!
