The Castleisland Desmonds senior men travelled to play Spa in Killarney on Sunday and came away with convincing 5-16 to 1-12 win.

This was very good overall team display and credit to all of the players and management on this result.

They now travel to play St.Mary’s Caherciveen on Sunday April 30th at 2:30pm.

Desmonds team was: Thomas Hickey, Steven Bartlett, David Lynch, Kieran Brennan, Pat Fitzgerald, Maurice Hickey, Brian Leonard, Gearoid Leonard, Marc O’Connor, Micheál Walsh, Tadhg O’Connell, Adam Donoghue, Colm Murphy, Graham O’Connor, Cian D.O’Connor, Maurice Lynch, Barry Lynch, Pa White, Maurice O’Connell, Stan Divane, Ciaran Breen, Seán Lynch and Tomás Lynch.

No Jackpot Winner at The Shoemaker’s

The club Lotto draw took place in the Shoemaker’s Bar on Saturday. The numbers drawn were 6, 25, 26 and 29. There was no winner of the jackpot of €2,800.

Lucky dip prizes:  €30 Seamus O’Connor. With €20 each to: Tom O’Brien c/o Aileen Lynch; Margaret Kennedy, Castleisland; Denis Horan, Coolnageragh and Peter O’Mahony.

Next Lotto draw Saturday May 6th. Venue awaits confirmation.

Minors to Play Kenmare

The minor boys’ team travelled to play Kenmare in the semi final of the county league on Friday. while they were missing some players on the evening they put up a great display they went in trailing at half time on the score of 1-4 to 0-3.

In the second half there was a overall better display and they were unlucky to lose the game on the final score of 3-8 to 2-8.

Congrats to Adam and Luka

Well done to Adam Donoghue who played with the Kerry Minors against Clare in the Munster Championship and to Luka Brosnan who was on the extended minor panel.

U-16s in League Semi Final

The U-16 boys’ team have reached the semi final of the Kerry Central Region League by defeating St. Pat’s of Blennerville on the score of 3-11 to 3-6 on Monday, April 17th. Well done to all the players and team management.

They now travel to play Ardfert on Monday 24th to see who tops the group. The throw in for this game is at 7pm.

Home Game for U-14 Boys

The U-14 boys will have home advantage when they play Knock/Brosna/Duagh in the county league on Wednesday, April 26th with the throw in at 7pm.

Desmonds Ladies Luckless

No luck for Desmonds ladies who were defeated away to Rathmore last Sunday in the county league on the Score of 5-12 to 2-15.

Congrats to St. Mary’s / Desmonds/ Euro Champs

Congratulations to all of the Desmonds ladies players who were part of the successful St.Mary’s Basketball Club team which won the international basketball tournament in Barcelona last weekend.
