Castleisland Camera Club had another very successful meeting last Thursday night with more new members in attendance.

By Breda McGaley PRO

Con Dennehy also attended and gave a very comprehensive talk to the group before answering questions on photography and camera basics.

Something for Everyone

The club is made up of people of varying ability – from real beginners to more advanced and everything in between – but there was something for everyone in Con’s presentation.

Our first outing as a club was discussed at this meeting.

Gleann Na Ginnte

As we are lucky enough to have the esteemed mountain runner, John Lenihan as a member, it was decided that we will venture to Gleann Na Ginnte on a date to be confirmed.

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday May 4th in the NEWKD offices at 8.15pm.

An annual membership fee of €50 will be due on this date and we would encourage any other photography enthusiasts to come along and join us.

Irish Examiner Competition

The Irish Examiner is currently running a competition for amateur photographers and inviting submissions thus:

Whether you are a budding photographer or just like to take snaps on your compact camera or smartphone,
we want you to share your best pictures with us.

Each week two pictures will be chosen and featured on the Forum pages of our Saturday edition of the Irish Examiner. The two winners will receive a high quality A3 print of the page and will go through to the 2017 Readers’ Photography Competition Final at the end of the year.
