Paudie Retraces his 2006 Team Steps as 2017 Assistant Coach

In 2006, St. Mary’s Basketball Club member, Paudie Fleming had the honour of playing for his country in the European championships when he lined out with the Irish U-16 team.

In preparation for the championships Ireland played England twice over a weekend, both games were hosted by the St. Mary’s club in Castleisland.

Top Scorer

The icing on the cake for Paudie was that he had the honour of captaining Ireland for both of those games and was top scorer for the Irish team over the weekend.

Eleven years on, Paudie is assistant coach to Pat Price with the Irish U-16 boys team which flies out to Bulgaria for the European Championships today, August 8th.
