Members of the Kingdom Veteran Vintage & Classic Car Club were all set to go on their eighth annual charity run from Ó Riada’s Bar and Restaurant on the Friday evening of July 21st at 7pm.

Weather took a hand – bad weather that is – and the event had to be postponed.

Ready to Go – Again !

Now George Glover and his band of vintage vehicle enthusiasts are ready to go again on the coming Friday evening, August 11th at 7pm from Ó Riada’s Bar and Restaurant in Ballymacelligott.

The run will benefit Downs Syndrome Kerry and a collections bucket will be in operation on a voluntary donations basis.

With Ó Riada’s as its point of beginning and end, the convoy of gleaming relics of old decency will head for the roundabout beyond Ballygarry House Hotel.

Off Back to Ballymac

There, they’ll turn left for Farranfore and head on to Currow Village, over by Dromulton to Davy Roche’s Cross down to Castleisland, back by Garvey’s SuperValu and onto the bypass and off back to Ballymacelligott.

The club increased its charity take a couple of years ago by inviting Honda bike owners to join them on the run.

Flatter Circuit This Time

Taking the age of the participating vehicles into consideration they now avoid challenging, hilly routes and opt for flatter circuits after lessons learned over the last few years.
