Danny Healy-Rae TD tells us he’s glad that €727,000 has been made available to Local Improvement Schemes in Kerry.
“I would like to thank the Minister for Rural Affairs, Michael Ring TD, for providing this funding,” said Deputy Healy Rae.
Suspended in 2011
“These Local Improvement Schemes were suspended since 2011. Kerry County Council envisages that approximately 27 local roads will be resurfaced with this allocation.
“I have been making constant representations about the return of this scheme since being elected to the Dáil, ensuring that it was included in the Programme for Government.
Entitled to a Good Road
“I told Ministers several times that the people of Kerry are entitled to a good road to their door every bit as much as the people of Dublin 4.” Deputy Healy Rae concluded with a hint of poetry.
