Cordal GAA Club has received some wonderful news this week. Brendan Griffin TD and Minister of State for Sports & Tourism notified our club that we are to receive €26,500 from the Sports Capital National Lottery Programme towards the development of our Juvenile Pitch/Training Area.

By Tim O’Donoghue and Paddy Flynn

This project will commence in 2018 and would not have been able to go ahead without this much needed funding.

This is great news for the club and our community.

Wholehearted Thanks to Minister Griffin.

We would like to wholeheartedly thank Minister Brendan Griffin for his work and commitment to helping Cordal GAA Club receive this much needed funding.

Cordal GAA Club AGM

The Cordal GAA Club AGM took place last Friday. It was an important event for the Club to look back on the past year and to vote in officers for the coming year. Our AGM was successful with a reasonably strong attendance from members of the community. There was about 40 people in total attendance. Seven of the attendees were between 17 and 20 years of age. Thanks to all who made the effort to attend.

The majority of the positions were filled on the night with further positions to be filled at the next Executive Meeting. We bid farewell to outgoing officers as well as welcoming some new arrivals. Thanks to all outgoing officers for your valued work and commitment. We also wish the best of luck to our new committee and new officers for 2018. The AGM was very positive and the future of Cordal GAA Club looks bright.

We look forward to what the new year will bring for our club and the community in Cordal.
