For people to whom events like this matter: Today is a special day in the life of Knocknagoshel woman, Siobhán McCrohan.

This is her final day of counter service at Browne’s Agri and Builders’ Providers here in Castleisland.

Siobhán is moving on after an 11 year stint at Browne’s – one of the leading hardware and farm supply outlets in the county.

Over a Decade Ago

Before taking up her job there on the October bank holiday weekend just over a decade ago, Siobhán had also been one of the friendly faces at Woodhaven Stores on Church Street for a span of 17 years.

She is, however, staying very much in touch with the hardware business and is now looking forward to her new role at the counter of Heiton Buckley Builders Merchants in Tralee – which she will take up after a week’s break.

New Challenge

“I’ll miss the faces from here and of course all the lads I worked with over the years. But I’m also looking forward to the challenge that fitting into a new situation brings me,” said Siobhán.

A recent convert to running and the concept of fitness, Siobhán took up the Couch-to-5k challenge at An Ríocht Athletic Club only a couple of years ago  – and she’s good at that too.

Keeping in Touch

She has completed several 5k runs over the last couple of years and intends keeping in touch with that important aspect of her social life in spite of the move.

If you know Siobhán, you can meet her at Browne’s until close of business this evening.

If you buy a handful of items you’ll get a ticket for their legendary Christmas Draw which is active at present.

Good wishes to Siobhán in her new role.
