Emergency Services Monitor Car Transporter Fire At Dysart Cross

Four units of firefighters, two from Castleisland and two from Tralee, are still on standby at Dysart Cross on the Castleisland to Killarney Road this mid morning as a car transporting truck smoulders.

A fire broke out on the rear of the transporter which completely destroyed many of the almost dozen new cars on its twin decks.

The cars were bound for Divanes Castleisland and speculation at the site of the fire this morning centred on a tyre on the truck catching fire.

Gardaí are also on the scene of the fire and there is and will be some traffic disruption on the route.

A member of the local fire brigade also said that it was fortunate that the transporter hadn’t made it into the town before the fire caught hold.
