Gardaí are continuing their house to house investigations today into the discovery of a badly injured man at St Stephens Park, Castleisland at around 5.30am on Sunday last January 14th 2018.

The man, in his late 20s, is now reported to be stable at Cork University Hospital.

Serious Head Injuries

He was transferred from University Hospital Kerry after initial treatment for serious head injuries and was on the critical list for a time.

While the investigation is centering on three locals, two have been arrested and one released.

The area where the man was found was at the centre of intensive scrutiny by Garda Scenes of Crime Examiners on Sunday and the investigations and searches have now widened to the general area.
