Since the convenient and productive amalgamation of two of Castleisland’s secondary schools, St. Joseph’s Presentation and St. Patrick’s Secondary in September 2012, their annual dramatic productions have become, well…. more dramatic and with casts of hundreds.

That’s no wonder as their catchment area was once the beat of some of Sliabh Luachra’s most famous musicians, poets and singers.

Musicals to variety Shows

These events have also tripped along from musicals and plays to variety shows – because they have the variety of talent now in their ranks to do just that.

Tonight you’ll see the latest in a long line of shows to grace the stage at St. John’s Hall from 7:30pm.

Teachers from both schools play a huge role in pulling all the fine elements of these shows together.

It has also been a common thread thorough the productions down all the years that the teachers / mentors lavish their students with praise for their dedication over the previous months in getting the show over the imaginary lines.

Form a Cluster

On Stage tonight will be representatives of all the parishes which form a cluster with Castleisland as a centre. It worked as a commercial entity down through the years and it works at schools level just as efficiently.

Good luck to all those taking to the stage tonight at St. John’s Hall and to their dedicated teachers. They’ll have earned all the applause and the bows they get by show’s end.
