Cllr. Maura Healy Rae has asked Kerry County Council what progress had been made with acquiring four and five bedroom houses for the Castleisland area.

“It has become clear to me in the last number of months that families with three and four children are finding it impossible to find a house,” said Cllr. Healy Rae.

“This issue is resulting in over crowding. I was delighted to hear that Kerry County Council has recently agreed to purchase two four-bedroom houses in Castleisland town which are currently going through the conveyancing process.

“Furthermore, the council assured me that it’s actively looking to acquire more properties in the area,” said Ms, Healy Rae.
