Ó Riada’s Bar to Host Recovery Haven Quiz on Friday at 9pm

Recovery Haven Kerry is calling on quiz buffs to put their brain power to the test this Friday night, March 9th when the charity hosts a fundraising quiz at O’Riada’s Bar in Ballymacelligot.

The purpose of the event is to help raise vital funds for the busy cancer support house, which offers free drop-in support, counselling and complementary therapies to those suffering from cancer and their families across the county.

Entertaining Set of Questions

Quiz master Michael O’Connor from Blennerville has come on board to support the event with what he promises is a lively and entertaining set of questions, so a fun night is guaranteed.

Entry to the quiz is €20 per table of four and there will also be a raffle on the night for some great spot prizes in an effort to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Ó Riada’s Bar Hosting

Thanking Mary and John of Ó Riada’s Bar for offering to host Friday night’s event, Recovery Haven PR & Marketing Officer, Marisa Reidy, encouraged as many locals as possible to come out and support this very worthy cause.

“There probably isn’t a person in Kerry who hasn’t been touched by cancer in some shape or form and what Recovery Haven Kerry aims to do is offer some comfort and support to anyone going through this extremely tough journey,” she explained.

No State Support

“Last year there were just over 2,000 attendances to our cancer support centres across the county. record for the charity – and with no state support, we rely solely on donations and fundraising Events such as Friday night’s quiz helps to keep our doors open.”

The quiz gets underway at 9pm and everyone is welcome.
