Corrandulla, Co. Galway was the neutral venue set for this cross conference game between Team Tom McCarthy’s and Fabplus North West as the team played its third last game of the league.

Fabplus took an early lead and dominated the first quarter. Ten of their 18 points came from Adiya Henderson while scores for Tom McCarthy’s came from Aoife Nolan, Mary Herlihy, Maebh Barry and Mia Hopkins.
Closed the Gap
St. Mary’s side closed the gap in the second quarter outscoring their opponents by four with great performances from both Labhaoise Walmsley and Deirdre Geaney and just three points separated the sides at the half time interval.
The third quarter was also close. Team Tom McCarthy’s took it by a basket closing the gap to a single point as the sides went in to the final quarter. Fabplus kept in touch and did not give their opponents any opportunity to get ahead.
Anyone’s Game
It was however anyone’s game in the final period and with just 29 seconds to play the sides were level but a determined Fabplus held on to take the game by three points.
Final Score: Fabplus North West 67 Team Tom McCarthy’s 64.

Support for Final Home Game
Team Tom McCarthy’s/St. Mary’s will play its final home game on Saturday evening and the team and management are hoping to see a show of local support for the game.
The tip-off against Swords Thunder is at 6.30pm and, as with all the season’s home games, this one is also sponsored by Garvey’s SuperValu.
