Knocknagoshel GAA Club News : Victory to Report

North Kerry League: Ballyduff 1-6 Knocknagoshel 4-14

At a windswept Ballyduff, Knocknagoshel seniors got their second victory in the North Kerry league over a Ballyduff side missing several of their regular team.

Knocknagoshel had the good fortune of playing with the gale at their backs in the first half and were able to take a comfortable lead by half time.

Noteworthy Points

Goals came from John Walsh, Shane O’Connell and Niall Barrett but it was the point taking of Edmond Walsh that was noteworthy in the first period.

Ballyduff had numerous attacks in that first half but found it difficult to score against the strong wind. When the ball spilled in the Knocknagoshel square John Hussey was first to react and rifled a shot to the top corner.

Dangerman Moved

A Darragh Goulding free was the only other score of the half for Ballyduff.

After half time Ballyduff moved their dangerman Darragh Goulding closer to the opposition goals but they were unable to get enough of a supply to him as Knocknagoshel held sway at midfield. Indeed it was Knocknagoshel midfielder Shane O’Connell who started and finished a team move to score his side’s fourth goal and with points coming from David O’Donoghue, Niall Barrett and Edmond Walsh the result was never in doubt.

Cillian Buckley netted for the home side at the start of the second half but An Ghaeltacht were quick to respond with Ó Beaglaoich, who finished with a total of 3-7, once again finishing to the net.
