Kilmurry School Fundraiser with Fun at Heart

If you are looking for a Friday evening of fitness and fun, Scoil Mhuire, Kilmurry National School couls just hold the answer.

The parents’ association of the school will host a 5km Fun Run on this Friday June 7th at 7pm.

Registration will take place at Cordal Community Centre from 6.15pm.

Race Entry €5

Race entry is €5 per person, with all primary school children going free.

With 100 children on the role books next year, the school is hoping to expand its playing facilities. All monies raised at the event will go towards a new soft surface playground area.

Kilmurry N.S. has a proud tradition of sporting excellence and athletics is no exception.

Some Accomplished Athletes

Athletics is a very popular activity within the school and children compete in various competitions throughout the school year.

The school has some very accomplished athletes in its midst and they will be hoping to showcase their talent in this event.

A Special Guest

“The event will be opened by a special guest on the evening and the race route will begin at the Old Kilmurry School and go through the townlands of Kilmurry, Kilberehert, Glenlarhan, Ballyplymoth and up Ardmona, finishing at the Cordal Community Centre,” said Scoil Mhuire Principal Thérèse, Kearney.

Prizes and Medals

“There are numerous prizes and medals to be won on the night. Refreshments and baked goods will also be served in the centre after the race and  everyone is more than welcome to join.

“We hope that the people of Cordal and surrounding parishes will join us and support our fundraising venture,” said Ms. Kearney.
