University Hospital Kerry is currently overcrowded to the extent that members of the public are being advised that only emergencies can now be met by the stretched staff there.

Full Since Wednesday

This is a situation which has been ongoing since Wednesday with the increase of patient numbers the main contributary factor.

Only Real Emergencies

Hospital administrators are advising people not to attend unless there’s a real emergency and they are also advised to see their local GP before attempting to gain admission to the hospital.

Working Flat Out

Only those with life threatening injuries or concerns will be treated as priority patients and staff members are working flat out to ease the backlog.
