The death has occurred of Matt Hughes, (70) of Cordal East, Castleisland, Co. Kerry on November 4th 2019 at his residence.
Sadly missed by his loving brothers Paddy and Tom, sisters Ann and Teresa, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
A hardworking man in his day, Mattie did stints with his neighbouring building contractors Larry Wrenn on Kerry County Council work throughout the parishes locally and with Denny Kerins on building sites and projects in various parts of the town and surrounding areas.
During the late Tom Wren’s tenure as host of the chatting sessions at Bob Finn’s or Mollie’s Corner, Mattie was a regular.
Tom Wren’s father, Denny was a native of Cordal and there was a lot of common ground to be raked over for a while before retiring to the local.
May God be good to them all.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Tangney’s Funeral Home Church Street, Castleisland on Thursday evening from 5pm to 7pm.
Followed by removal to Cordal Church.
Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon.
the Burial afterwards in Tobar na bhFionn Cemetery, Cordal.
