Payments Delay Causing Hardship for Farmers – Danny Healy Rae TD

Danny Healy Rae, TD has called on Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed to sort out delays in processing payments to farmers due to mapping issues.

Danny Healy Rae, TD is calling on Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed and his department to sort out the long delays in processing payments to farmers due to mapping issues.

“This year over 2,500 farmers are held up due to remote sensing and satellite inspections and only one third of these have been inspected,” said Deputy Healy Rae.

Not Being Informed

“Farmers are not being informed as to how long it will take to have their case resolved.

“This is very unfair and frustrating for farmers who rely on these grants to pay bills, make payments on loans etc…

Delays Grossly Unfair

“Farmers should at least be fully informed and withholding 100% of payments is causing hardship for farm families and is grossly unfair.

“An interim payment of more than half the grant should be issued while mapping issues are being resolved,” said the deputy.
