Camera Club Exhibition and Fundraiser on November 30th

Castleisland Camera Club’s annual exhibition and fundraiser will take place on Saturday November 30th in the Ivy Leaf Art Centre, Castleisland.

“This year’s fundraiser is called ‘Now and Then’ The ‘Now’ section of the fundraiser will consist of a display of portraits of characters from Castleisland and the surrounding areas taken by club members,” said club spokesperson, Breda McGaley.

Characters from the Past

“The ‘Then’ section of the event will be in the form of a photographic show of Timothy Murphy’s digitised photos of characters in Castleisland in the past.

“Timothy has a huge collection of old photos and a wealth of knowledge about the characters that appear in them from days gone by.

“Club members have taken a wide and varied selection of present day characters from Castleisland and the surrounding areas and we wish to express our gratitude to all those who very kindly took part.

Entertaining and Informative

“It promises to be a very entertaining and informative night bringing past and present together and Castleisland Camera Club is delighted to have Timothy on board for this event.

“Tickets will be available to purchase from club members; the River Island Hotel and Tomo Burke’s Electrical at a cost of €8 per ticket or two for €15.

Donation to Charity

“Doors will open at 7pm. Show will begin at 8pm sharp. Refreshments will be available on the night and a selection of beautiful photographs taken by club members will be available to purchase.

“The club, as always, will make a donation to a local charity afterwards.U-16s must be accompanied by an adult,” said Breda.
