An urgent appeal / message just in from Jack Shanahan at the Haven Pharmacy in Garvey’s SuperValu complex on Church Street, Castleisland.
“I am worried that many over 70s are not heeding the ‘Stay At Home’ message,” said Jack – and he continued:
“This morning, in the first hour, I had a 79 year old, an 85 year old and a 76 year old and they think that the message doesn’t apply to them.
Unnecessary Risk to Lives
“Obviously, the huge concern is that they are putting themselves at risk unnecessarily.
“People have to understand that the virus is here in Kerry.
“It is very contagious. Garvey’s have a free delivery service and the local pharmacies are organising deliveries.
Please Stay at Home
“Over 70s- please, please, please stay at home,” said Mr. Shanahan.
Reading between the lines of the message you could see a ‘For God’s Sake’ in there as Jack – a health care professional with the good of his community at heart – implores the age category most at risk to heed the warnings being issued in the efforts to contain this merciless, terrible and seemingly rampaging virus.
