Feeding the Front-liners – Kerry College in Collaboration with HSE

Friday’s food offering included: Roast Turkey,  Glazed Ham, Onion and Herb Stuffing, Mashed Potato, Honey Roasted Root Vegetables.

The culinary team and apprentices at Kerry College – Monavalley Campus have collaborated with the HSE to supply healthy, fresh nutritious meals to the wonderful staff at the Kerry Civil Defence, Ambulance Service and the COVID-19 Test Centre in Tralee.

Food was delivered to the following services today: Civil Defence, Tralee; COVID-19 Test Centre, Tralee and the Ambulance Service, Tralee.

The project currently operates two days per week, with plans to scale it up to three days per week from Monday, May 11th.

Commis Chef apprentices from both the Tralee and Kenmare classes will join the food project from next week.

“John Drummond is a cover instructor who delivers on the Commis Chef course and he is also the Executive Chef at Gleneagle Hotel and Mick Ryan is our newly appointed Commis Chef Instructor,” said Kerry College Admissions Officer and food project initiative spokesman, John Herlihy.
