Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae tells us he’s delighted to see that the road works programme for the Castleisland area has started.

Works began with the road from Dicksgrove Cross to Farranfore Village which has already been resurfaced.

“This is following us, as councillors, having adopted the 2020 Road Works Programme at the March meeting of the Castleisland Area,” said Cllr. Jackie.

Extra Machinery Needed Now

“Work will continue on the other roads adopted at that time. While this year’s programme has been delayed by the spread of Covid-19, we’re hopeful of completing the programme prior to the end of the year.

“Having spoken with area manager John Breen, I have requested that the possibility of hiring in extra machinery be explored to meet the demand of the programme given the time pressure we are now under to complete the programme on schedule,” Cllr. Healy Rae said in conclusion.
