The death has occurred of Timothy ‘Timmy’ Downey, Cragg, Castleisland, Co. Kerry.
Peacefully, on June 6th 2020, at the Bon Secours Hospital, Tralee, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Marie and son Moss.
Sadly missed by his loving son Martin, daughter Liz, daughter-in-law Mary, sister Norrie, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, carers and a large circle of friends.
Also remembering his deceased brother Fr. Jimmy, sisters Mary, Kitty and Breda and son-in-law Tom Fleming.

The Friendly Face on Hospice Walk Days
Timmy Downey’s was the friendly, smiling face which greeted walkers in the annual Good Friday morning Hospice Walk outside his home in Cragg for almost two decades.
He would have a table of jugs of water and orange and cups at a point in the walk when it was most needed.
An adult taking a welcome cup of water from Timmy’s table, during one of the walks was watching him pouring orange for younger walkers, remarked to him that the youngsters would always remember him for this. “That’ll do me fine,” he replied.
Timmy was a regular at local GAA and rugby games and horse racing days in Cragg and Powell’s Road and an interested and interesting participant in matters of local history.

A private family funeral will take place for Timmy R.I.P. His Requiem Mass will be held in Castleisland Parish Church on this Tuesday morning at 11am and can be viewed live on the link below.
Burial afterwards in Kilbanivane Cemetery, Castleisland.
