No More ‘Pitch’ Darkness – Let There Be Light

Brosna GAA Club is delighted to announce that there has been an upgrade to the lights at the pitch.

With the same illumination as street lights, the walking track will be lit up from 6.15pm to 9.15pm each evening.

This is wonderful news for all of us trying to keep up with our fitness regimes.

Looking forward to seeing many of you – from a safe social distance – enjoying this great amenity.

GAA Round Up – Kerry up on Blocks

It’s hard to believe that the Kerry Senior Footballers are up on blocks now for the remainder of the championship.

Likewise, the Limerick footballers were denied their fortunes by the very last kick of their game too.

In true sportsmanlike fashion, we wish our very near neighbours Cork the very best as they progress to their Munster final against Tipperary.

Likewise, we will be cheering on the Kerry hurlers who are to meet Carlow in the next round of the Joe McDonagh Cup.

Thank You for TV Match Coverage

I am sure I am not alone in saying how wonderful it is having so much GAA coverage on TV at this time – regardless of the recent disappointing outcomes.

The dedication by officials and teams who, under difficult conditions of both lock-down and weather, are delivering hours of amazing entertainment for all of us.  We are truly grateful.

With Sympathy

They say the sun shines on the virtuous. It must indeed be true because after a week of unremitting rain and storm, Mrs. Sheila Flynn was laid to rest under a perfectly blue sky.

I heard the same words over and over again in conversations about Sheila during the past week namely, gentle, refined, informed, intelligent.

She had the honour of being our parish’s oldest citizen.

We send our sincerest sympathies to Sheila’s four children, many grandchildren, extended family and friends. Rest in Peace, Sheila.
