‘Salt of the Earth’ – Cllr. Healy Rae

“Buddy Brosnan, hailing proudly from Lyreacrompane, was the definition of ‘salt of the earth,’ said Cllr. Jackie Healy Rae on the passing of one of his family’s most ardent and loyal supporters.

“Friendly, funny, extremely loyal, a great man for a song and even a great baker are just some of the ways you’d sum him up.

“When I told Buddy I was running for election in his local parish is 2019, he rowed in behind me, encouraged me, canvassed with me, put up posters, No was never in his vocabulary.

Forever Indebted to Buddy

“The only reason I am where I am today is because of Buddy and people like him, who are willing to take you under their wing and back you.

“I’ll never forget what he has done for me to get me on the road and I will forever be indebted to him.

“I will miss Buddy greatly, as will his entire community who adored him, a character of true Kerry nature, welcoming and ever so kind.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his family who will miss him dearly. Rest In Peace my dear friend,” said Cllr. Healy Rae.
