A Deservedly Regarded Gentleman

Widely and deservedly regarded as a gentleman, Batt Wall (71) will be remembered in homes, hotels and offices throughout the county and beyond as a carpet and floor covering expert during his working career with McElligott’s of Castleisland. It was a trade he practiced with the skills of a tailor and the impact of a finished floor and room bore just testament to his efforts.

Neighbours in St. Stephen’s Park in Castleisland were alerted that all wasn’t well around mid-morning on Monday as a helicopter landed on the green there.

An air of sadness soon followed as the news spread of Batt’s passing and the Garda car, ambulance and helicopter all left the scene.

The condolences of the communities in Castleisland and Abbeyfeale will be offered in abundance to Batt’s grieving family over the coming days as they try to come to terms with their loss.

May God be good to him.
