Daly Welcomes Vaccine Progress for Very High Risk Groups

Sinn Féin TD for Kerry, Pa Daly, has welcomed the news that very high risk groups have been moved into Cohort 4 within the Vaccination Allocation Strategy.

I have made representations to the government on behalf of a number of groups that have now rightly been prioritised. These include the immunocompromised, cancer patients, cystic fibrosis sufferers  and adults with Down Syndrome,” said Teachta Daly.

Evidence Heard and Heeded

The government has listened to the evidence presented by affected individuals and has taken this action, which is very welcome.

They must continue to be ambitious in terms of the vaccine rollout, and stick to their promises on when they will have the vulnerable covered.

Doubt Over Timelines

There have been further developments that have lead to some doubt over vaccine timelines.

The government needs to be honest and not spin the figures.

Many very high risk individuals have been shielding and cocooning for a year now, and they deserve hope and a light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.
