The death has occurred of Jerh Dee Horan, 33 Castleview, Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

Peacefully on March 27th 2021, after a short illness, in the wonderful care of the staff at University Hospital Kerry.

Beloved husband of the late Mary. Sadly missed by his loving daughter, Kathleen, son Gerard, daughter-in-law Noreen, his adored grandchildren Michael and Kevin, sisters-in-law Teresa and Frances, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

A Railway Man

Generations of locals will remember Jerh Dee Horan as a railway man and this was a job he inherited from his father.

He carried out delivery work from the goods department of the Castleisland Railway Station to business premises throughout the area during the heyday of the branch line from Gortatlea which ran from 1875 to 1977. 

Jerh Dee was 90 years of age and would have been 91 in June. He enjoyed good health up to a recent short illness. May God be good to him.

Private Family Funeral

A private family funeral will take place for Jerh with his Requiem Mass on Monday morning at 11am in Castleisland Parish Church.

Funeral Cortège Route

Jerh’s funeral cortège will depart his residence at Castleview at 10.30am on Monday morning en route to Castleisland church and will depart the church at 12 noon approximately and travel up the Main Street en route to the cemetery.

Please ensure HSE guidelines on social distancing are adhered to at all times.
