The COVID pandemic has been particularly tough on learners who don’t have access to up-to-date technology or broadband to connect to the online learning and tuition that was necessary over the past 12 months.

Fast Track to IT (FIT) have been collaborating with Kerry College for several years providing training and employment supports in the form of CV workshops, interview skills, industry specific mock interviews and LinkedIn workshops.

Challenge of Home Study

As a means of goodwill and also in response to the challenge of studying from home, FIT has run a national laptop competition.

Four lucky Kerry College students were chosen to receive top of the range Dell laptops.

These were: Business with Marketing learner Agnese Stradina from Listowel; Fibre Optic Installation learner, James Noonan from Tralee; Applied Social Studies learner, Michael Pierog from Tralee and VTOS learner Hussein Sarwar from Killarney.

Cordal native, Marie O’Donoghue is Training and Employment Officer with FIT presented the laptops to the students this week.
