Gardai Investigating Alleged Assault on Female in Castleisland’s Limerick Road

The Garda Press Office has confirmed that Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault that is understood to have occurred yesterday evening, Friday 6th August 2021 in the Limerick Road area of Castleisland.

A male in his 30s has been arrested in relation to this and is currently detained at Tralee Garda station.

Investigations are ongoing.

Prayers and good wishes are being offered up for the female victim of the alleged assault who, though not a native of the town, has lived and worked at various locations here over the past couple of decades.

Garda and medical personnel activity around the premises next door to the former Nelligan’s Bakery and Shop on Limerick Road alerted locals to the incident on Friday evening.

There is no update available on the alleged victim at the time of going to press.
