Sharon Shannon, Jim and Jack on Their Way to Ballymac

That’s them: Sharon Shannon with Jim Murray (left) and Jack Maher doing what comes so naturally and they’ll be doing it all at Ó Riada’s in Ballymacelligott on March 18th and 19th.

Sharon Shannon and her new band, with Jim Murray and Jack Maher, are making their way to Ó Riada’s Bar and Restaurant in Ballymacelligott over the bank holiday weekend.

On the day after St. Patrick’s Day, on Friday, March 18th they will do two shows, the first at 5pm and the second at 8pm.

On the Saturday, March 19th they will perform one show at 7pm.

These shows are following the highly successful dinner / show format at which Sharon Shannon provided the central attraction several times over the past few years.

Sell-out Events

The sell-out events also featured Johnny McEvoy, Eleanor Shanley Frances Black and, more recently, singer Seán Keane.

This will be a new show from Sharon as the inclusion of Jack Maher will bring more singing to the presentation.

Jim Murray is widely known and respected as a traditional Irish guitarist who has performed and recorded with artists such as: Sinead O’Connor, Steve Earl, Shane McGowan, Altan, Mary Black, Seamus Begley and Sharon Shannon.

And Sharon said of him: “I feel so lucky to travel the world with Jim because he’s an absolute genius musician.”

Made for Each Other

Jack Maher looks like he was just waiting to join Sharon and Jim and they were made for him and he for them.

And if you’re wondering what happened to Sharon’s usual ‘Ballymac musical partner,’ Alan Connor. Have a look at the line-up of the Late Late Show House Band on Friday night and you’ll find out.

For a €60 per head ticket you get all the entertainment and the promise of ‘a fabulous three course meal.’

Bookings can be arranged by ringing Mary Jones on 087 206 4119.
