Presentation Castleisland Secondary School’s TY Musical production of Mamma Mia is set to take stage tomorrow, Wednesday April 6th. at 7.30pm with a matinee show for local primary schools taking place during the day.

The transition year students have been very busy over the last couple of weeks producing their musical Mamma Mia alongside music teacher Deirdre O’Brien.

Anna McSweeney is taking on the leading role of Donna Sheridan with her trusty sidekicks ‘The Dynamos’ starring Aoife O’Leary and Mya Griffin.

Wedding of ‘Sophie and Sky’

The whole event is focused on the preparation for the big wedding of ‘Sophie and Sky’ played by Aoibhe Hickey and Valentina Navarro.

The disruption of the arrival of three potential fathers played by Áine Murphy, Ciara Cahill and Clodagh Coffey is sure to throw a spanner in the works.

Sophie and her best friends and bridesmaids ‘Lisa and Ali’ played by Elaine Cronin and Aoife Fleming are not going to let anything spoil the lead up for the big day which ‘Fr. Alex’, played by Doireann O’Sullivan, has a tough job keeping together.

Pepper and Eddie = Mischief

The mischievous duo of ‘Pepper and Eddie’ played by Julia Curtin and Megan Dennehy are sure to keep things light hearted even if things become too much.

Adding to the cast is our wonderful chorus singers and dancers from transition year Blathnaid Casey, Jennifer Culloty, Emma Keane, Emma Knapp, Katelynn Laide, Katie Nolan, Lauren O’Connor, Orlaith O’Connor, Zara O’Connor, Muireann Rahilly, Rebecca Reidy and Jessica Riordan.

Our wonderful sound engineering duo Shauna Griffin and Ava McGovern have played key roles in the running of the entire show from start to finish.

Great Night’s Entertainment

The show would not have been possible without the wonderful background team from transition year who were key producers of the overall production, Annie Moriarty and Nora Anne Hartnett.

It will be a great night’s entertainment for young and old and a night not to be missed.

Tickets, adults at €10; students and OAPs €5 each, are available through the school office on: 066 71 41178. Or at the door on the night.
