Work began early last April on the leveling, resurfacing and ‘tarmacing’ of part of the town park walk.

The development was widely welcomed by members of the local community and, naturally, the question is when will the rest of it be done.

The area on the western front of the pavilion at An Ríocht to the Crageens Bridge has been ‘tarred’ in that April project.

Thanks for Funding Assistance

For that, Tom O’Leary, volunteer works supervisor is thankful to Kerry County Council and, by extension, to the Department of Rural and Community Development and its Community Enhancement Programme 2021 and the Community Support Fund 2021 for their considerable assistance.

“As soon as funds become available again the committee will continue with this work along the River Maine stretch. This is an ongoing project and we hope that people will support a fundraiser that we hope to start in the near future,” said Mr. O’Leary.
