Kerry Women’s Refuge

Adapt Kerry Women’s Refuge in Tralee operates Kerry Women’s Refuge and Support Service. It is a Registered Charity established in 1992 to provide a specialist response to women and children in County Kerry whose lives are affected by domestic violence.

Key Services Offered

The key services offered include: safe and secure emergency accommodation for families forced to leave home due to domestic violence; a helpline service; a county-wide outreach support service across Kerry; court accompaniment; a therapeutic response to children affected by domestic violence.

Community Support

Since the service opened it has relied upon and enjoyed the support and generosity of the local community.

In recent years, however, its funding/income has been reduced and it needs to find new ways of generating its own funds and this is why the service decided to open a shop in Tralee.
