Last week’s big Castleisland RFC Split the Bucket winner Derry Curtin collected  his €1,001 prize winnings  from club coach Billy O’Sullivan at The Half Way Bar, Ballymacelligott.

As Derry was collecting his cheque, draw host Patrick McCarthy had a hand in creating a piece of Split the Bucket history as he picked out this week’s winner, Esther Murphy, Tullig and Cordal for a €970 prize.

This is yet another win for a member of the extremely lucky Murphy family and it’s Esther’s second STB win.

Murphy’s Winning Ways

Esther’s brother Paddy Murphy won €802 in December 2020 and in doing so he became the fourth members of the family to win the draw.

Their Co. Meath based brother, John won it just a month previously while brother Mossie won it three times and the late Timmy was also a popular winner of €1,213 when the draw was in its infancy in the autumn of 2018.

Creating Draw History

Congratulations to Esther on her win and as she creats another bit of draw history. Next Saturday night’s draw will be held at Tom McCarthy’s Bar at around 9pm.

“Best of luck everyone and thanks for your continued support it’s very much appreciated,” said club PRO Brian O’Sullivan.
