A Touch of Weather to Be Wary of

It’s winter and the weather is acting accordingly and we have to work around it and take care. Photograph: John Reidy 17-1-2023

While we are all being advised to proceed with caution today whether on foot or driving, conditions are not as bad as they were earlier this month.

Even so, there are stretches of roads in this and neighbouring localities that could trip us up.

There was a sobering reminder for people travelling to and from Killarney yesterday evening of how weather like this can catch us out at the scene of a serious looking road traffic accident at Aghadoe.

The following is the Met Éireann Weather Forecast for today and tomorrow. Take care.

Today

Today will be cold with sunny spells and scattered showers of rain, sleet and snow.

It will become drier by the evening as the showers become isolated. Highest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees in a moderate to fresh west to northwest wind.

Tonight

It will become cloudy overnight and outbreaks of rain or sleet will develop. Lowest temperatures of -2 to +1 degrees with light and variable winds.

Tomorrow

On Thursday morning it will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain or sleet but that will clear southwards and for the rest of the day it will be largely dry with some sunny spells. Cold with highest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees with light and variable winds.
