A reminder that the latest installment of the Handed Down series of concerts and lectures at the Sliabh Luachra Heritage Centre in Scartaglen will be held tonight from 8pm sharp.

Tonight’s programme will celebrate the connection between the culture and traditions of Sliabh Luachra and Cork City.

Taking the form of a lecture by the highly respected musician Dr. Matt Cranitch, he will explore the significant interaction between Sliabh Luachra and his native Cork City from the 1970s onwards.

Under the title ‘A Picture Paints a Thousand Words’ Matt will draw on his personal involvement and recollections in looking at the links in both music and dance traditions between the two areas and the guests will include the irrepressible Jackie Daly.

There will be tunes – you may be sure !
