Wins on the Double for Scartaglen National School Boys’ Football Team

Scartaglen National  School boys’ football team has had a remarkable run of success so far this year.

The run began last October really when the team won the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol four and five teacher school final.

They won the Castleisland district final and from there went on to overcome Portmagee National School in the semi final.They were drawn against Kilcummin National School in the final and defeated them on a score line of 6-6 to 3-3 in a spectacular display of football that everyone, on the Scart side, enjoyed!

The whole community of Scartaglen got behind the team and there was a great turnout of supporters on the evening. This was much appreciated by the boys.
A Tight Encounter
On March 18th. they won the Castleisland District final of the INTO/GAA Mini 7s and as a result they qualified for the next round in Tralee on April 11th.
In their first game they were drawn against Portmagee National School and this was a very tight encounter.

In their second game they defeated Scoil Naomh Eric An Ghleanna, West Kerry. They were drawn against Ballyduff National School in the semi final and ended up meeting Portmagee again in the final.

Excellent Second Half for Scart

This game too this was very hard fought and exciting. They were level at half time. The boys excelled in the second half and came out worthy winners on a score line of 2-5 to 1-3.
