Brú Columbanus Bucket Collection in Castleisland Parish on December 14th and 15th

On the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, December 14th and 15th there will be a bucket collection in aid of Brú-Columbanus at all three churches in Castleisland parish – in Castleisland, Scartaglen and Cordal.

‘A Special Place to Lie Down When We’re Tired’

The facility provided by the Cork based charity organisation has been described by the Castleisland parish office as: ‘A special place to lie down when we’re tired.’

Brú-Columbanus is located at Wilton, Cork City, a ten-minute walking distance from Cork University Hospital and close to the local hospice facilities.

“It is more than a house. It is a home-from-home for families of patients ill in all Cork hospitals and in the hospice.

Full Facilities – No Charge

“It has 26 en-suite family rooms with supporting kitchen and laundry facilities. There is no charge and rooms cannot be pre-booked.

“It operates on a day-to-day basis. It is the medical staff at all Cork Hospitals and at the hospice who refer people.

‘A Haven of Love’

“Many families and communities, who have experienced this haven of love, have been very generous and supportive and we want to be associated with this grace-filled opportunity to support the vital services provided by Brú-Columbanus,” according to the parish statement.
