Tadhg and Derry Fleming will be in Castleisland on Monday afternoon at 3:20 pm to perform the official turning on of the Christmas lights and to set the seasonal celebrations afloat in their own inimitable style.
Plans by Castleisland Chamber Alliance to hold its Christmas launch tomorrow Friday 6th have been put on hold due to the unfavourable weather forecasts.
The programme of events which had been planned for tomorrow has been lifted body and bones and moved intact to Monday afternoon and evening.
Now: in Castleisland on the coming Monday, December 9th Christmas will be launched and celebrated with the blessing of the crib at The Fountain by Fr. Mossie Brick at 3pm followed by the planned carol singing by the local primary schools.
Lighting Up with Derry and Tadhg
At 3.20pm the ceremonial switching on of Castleisland’s Christmas Lights by Tadhg and Derry Fleming will also go ahead on Monday afternoon.
After dark at 5.30pm the promised ‘Jingle & Mingle’ at Walsh Electrical car park will also go ahead with Santa arriving and looking forward to meeting children of any age.
Join in the Celebrations
The event will be enhanced by a complimentary barbecue, snacks, mulled wine and hot chocolate and craft stalls.
On what was once one of the biggest and busiest weekends on the market town’s calendar, you’re still invited to come along and join in the celebrations with your community on Monday afternoon and evening from 3pm at The Fountain for a start.
