A charity event at 4pm on this Sunday afternoon in Abbeyfeale comes with a code of dress for participants and a warning for the fashion conscious:
“Don’t come here wearing dear clothes or shoes because this is a ‘Colour Run’ and the colour will run if it rains on the day.
Bernadette Brosnan is one of a handful of people behind the event which aims to raise funds which will be shared by Kerry Hospice Foundation and the Milford Hospice.

“We’re asking people to take a walk in the park with us because we know that fighting cancer is no walk in the park,”

“The Colour Run is an ancient tradition in India and a few of us here got the idea that we’d have one in the town park in Abbeyfeale,” said Bernadette Brosnan.
“We’re asking people to be here for 3pm to register. As it’s all in the town park we’ll have the facilities here for the children as well. There will be music and ice cream vans and all kinds of entertainment.
“It’s all a bit of fun and we’re asking people to dress in white gear so that the powder will show up. The idea is that people will or walk a lap of the park – and that’s just a mile long – and they’l be pelted with coloured powder along the route.

“The powder will blow away and off their clothes – if the day is dry. It will run and stick of course if it rains and that’s why we’re advising people not to bring good clothes or shoes with them.

“We’re asking people to take a walk in the park with us because we know that fighting cancer is no walk in the park and we’re hoping for a big turnout on Sunday,” said Bernadette in conclusion. Bernadette Brosnan can be contacted on: 087 96 61 383
