Castleisland Camera Club held its final meeting of 2019 last night. The meeting heard that Saturday night’s club fundraiser was a huge success and the feedback received was very positive.

“People seemed to really enjoy browsing through the many portraits our members had taken and Timothy Murphy’s photographic show brought back alot of memories for people in the audience,” said club PRO, Breda McGaley.

Time and Vast Knowledge

“Timothy very kindly offered his time and vast knowledge of Castleisland free of charge. The club invited him to nominate a local charity to which we would then make a donation.

“He then nominated Castleisland Day Care Centre so a donation of €300 will be made in the coming weeks on behalf of the club in conjunction with Timothy.

Meeting and Chatting

“Our members thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting with all the characters we have photographed to date and it has been decided to continue with this as there are many many more people we have yet to have the pleasure of photographing.

“So it will be an ongoing venture with a view to another exhibition some time in 2020.

Gifting Portraits

“The club would like to thank all the people who very kindly posed for us and we will be gifting the portraits to these people in the coming weeks.

“Thanks to Timothy Murphy for sharing his precious photographs and knowledge with us and to Jerome Stack for his help in the Ivy Leaf and, of course, to everybody who bought a ticket and supported us on the night.

“All of this support is greatly appreciated,” said Breda.
