Knocknagoshel in Junior Championship Quarter Finals  

Knocknagoshel qualified for the quarter finals of the Junior Championship following an easy victory over Sneem / Derrynane in Beaufort on Saturday evening.   

Sneem / Derrynane opened the scoring with a point from play by Denis O’Sullivan.

A point by John Walsh and two points each by Michael Keane and Edmond Walsh saw Knocknagoshel lead 0-5 to 0-2 at the end of the opening quarter.

Knocknagoshel went on to score 1-6 without reply after the water break with John Walsh getting the goal.

Half time Knocknagoshel 1-11 Sneem / Derrynane 0-2.

With a solid defensive display by John Brosnan and Darragh O’Connell Knocknagoshel limited Sneem / Derrynane to just one score in the second half, a point from Morgan O’Donoghue.   Knocknagoshel went on to score a further 2-5, with goals from John Bell and Dylan Curtin and points by Niall Barrett and Edmond Walsh.

Pattern Day Raffle With Excellent Prizes

Knocknagoshel GAA Club will hold a raffle on August 15th.

There are excellent prizes on offer including: Bed and Breakfast and an evening meal for two at the Dingle Skellig Hotel; A family pass for Tayto Park; a €100 shopping voucher for Kieran’s XL; a €50 voucher for Kirby’s Brogue Inn, Tralee and a €50 voucher for Kerry Agribusiness.

Lines are €5 each and can be purchased from Kieran’s XL, Knocknagoshel Gym, senior players and committee members.

Lotto Jackpot Reaches €10,000

The Knocknagoshel GAA Club lotto draw for a jackpot of €9,900 was held in the local community centre. 

The numbers drawn were 12, 20, 31 and 32.  There was no winner of the jackpot.

The five lucky dips of €30 each were won by: Billy O’Rourke, Doneen; Peg O’Donoghue, Tooreenagown; Richie Leahy, Kilmanihan; Brendan Butler, Castleisland and Pam Cotter, Knockbrack.

The next draw will be for a jackpot of €10,000 and will be held on Saturday September 5th.

Tickets are available from: Kieran’s XL and Hungry Ed’s in Knocknagoshel; SuperValu in Abbeyfeale; Diarmuid’s Butchers and Eileen’s Bakery and Deli in Castleisland; Dillane’s shop and The Creamery at Feales Bridge and the usual sellers.

Knocknagoshel/Brosna U-14s defeated Finuge last Wednesday night and will play Cordal/Scartaglen in Brosna on this Wednesday, August 12th at 7pm.
