The members of the school community at Castleisland Community College were all celebrating the excellent Leaving Certificate results obtained by their students last Friday.
The excitement of the day was heightened by the visit of Minister for Education, Norma Foley, TD.
Principal Teresa Lonergan said that that 24% of students achieved over 500 points. 50% of students achieved over 400 points and 70% achieved over 300 points.
Siobhán O’Donoghue received the maximum points of 625. She now hopes to further her education in the University of Limerick by studying a degree in Bachelor of Science with Education.
Siobhán is a daughter of Anne and Michael of Cordal.
