National Alzheimer’s Tea Day will be held all over the country on this Thursday, May 5th from morning to late afternoon. Liz Galwey has issued an invitation to all to join her at No.10 Church St, (former Galwey auctioneers premises) This will be the fifth year that Liz has hosted a tea day for the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.
Give Something Back
“We are delighted to be able to host a Tea Party and give something back to the society as this is a cause close to our hearts,” said Liz.
Home baking is guaranteed to accompany pots of tea and coffee and plenty of fun. Tea will be served from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Last year Alzheimer’s Tea Day raised over €400,000 throughout Ireland. That, according to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, was due to the wonderful Tea Day hosts and to all those who attended and supported events around the country.
“From this campaign, and with the support of our hosts, we have made a real and lasting difference to the lives of people in local communities living with dementia. We are delighted to announce Daithí Ó Sé has come on-board as a Tea Day Ambassador for 2016,” according to a society statement.
