It’s the stuff that dreams are made of. And for all the dreams that are made and realised there are so many more that go west with the bounce of the ball or the flow of the game.
There is joy and sadness and laughter and tears. But they all become memories cherished or painful.
The following is a list of purely distilled results from at least a year-long period of preparations by so many players, parents and mentors – and, of course, five hard days over Christmas.
Those who appear on the list here will cherish the ‘Blitz Trophy’ or the medal and the adulation of the crowd – because there’s so much made of them and their efforts – win lose or draw.
And they’ll be back at it hammer and thongs from now until the teams for ‘The Blitz 2024’ are picked and the dreaming will begin all over again.
