The Late Liz Walmsley nee O’Sullivan, Castleisland and Ballymacelligott

The late Liz Walmsley was described this evening as “The best friend one could wish to have.”
Her St. Stephen’s Park neighbour, Margaret Mitchell said that they had been friends for the last 30 years and that they visited each other’s houses seven nights-a-week.
“She’d know if things were going against you and she’d give you the shirt off her back if she thought you’d want it. I have my new heart with 12 months today and she couldn’t do enough for me over the past year and I’m going to miss her terribly and so will all the neighbours here around. It was awfully sudden. But they say that only the good die young and look at me and I still here,” said Margaret.
It was Margaret Mitchell that Liz ran across the street for when her daughter, Noreen Ferris went into labour on a fine summer’s day back in June 2007. And Margaret delivered Baby Aoibhín Máidhréad Ferris without an ounce of bother or panic.

“Isn’t that what friends are for ? This was all so sudden though. We’re in shock – May she Rest in Peace,” said Margaret.
