An Riocht AC President, Denis Brosnan and Manager, Kate McSweeney have issued a joint, annual and festive invitation to leisure walkers and joggers to join them on Christmas Morning for the ‘Christmas Day Charity GOAL Mile’ from 10-30am to 12-30pm.
Walking, jogging or running is all fine and within the rules of the special occasion – which has been going on here since 1999. This year, simply dropping in and saying Hello or Happy Christmas is also being encouraged – once you drop something in the collection box.

Making the Effort

Getting out, making the effort and a donation is what’s important on this occasion.
Local charities: Acquired Brain Injury Ireland; St. John of God, Castleisland centre are the beneficiaries of the event and a portion is sent to GOAL for whatever overseas mission the organisation is involved in at the time.
Highly spirited and seasonal refreshments will be served after you do your stint on the track.
Even if the weather is against outdoor activity, the gathering in the spacious pavilion will only heighten the seasonal atmosphere. The spirit of giving and helping others is what the whole show is all about.
