Presentation Castleisland’s second year student, Rebecca Daly is picture perfect after last week’s news that she was awarded second place in Ireland in the prestigious MHI, Mental Health Ireland Art and Photography competition.

Five Ways to Wellbeing

“Working on the theme of the competition ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ Rebecca took a photograph of her sister Emma doing a cartwheel on Banna Strand,” said Katie O’Reilly, art teacher at Presentation Castleisland.

On Exhibition in Dublin

“Her photograph was then submitted to the competition last October and in January the school received notice that her entry had been shortlisted and would be on exhibition in St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin in March.

Thrilled with Award

“On March 28th Rebecca was thrilled to be awarded second place in Ireland in her category. Furthermore, last year’s winner has chosen Rebecca’s photograph to appear in the MHI’s 2020 calendar.

“Rebecca is a very talented Art student in Presentation Castleisland where her artistic abilities are regularly celebrated,” Ms. O’Reilly concluded.
